At Tempdent, our responsibilities towards Safeguarding form the foundation of our learner relationships.

We work hard to promote a culture where wellbing and safeguarding allows our learners to thrive in their professional programmes by protecting them, and providing them with age appropropriate information, advice, guidance and social education.

Tempdent is committed to providing effective safeguarding arrangements.

We treat our learners with respect, intervene appropriately to protect them, and provide them with an appropriate social education.

Safeguarding is everybody’s responsibility. At Tempdent, we educate our colleagues and our learners to enable them to act when it is identified that someone is at risk of harm or in need of welfare support.

What is safeguarding?

Safeguarding is about having an awareness of what constitutes harm and to have a clear understanding of how to access support through its robust process. Harm can come in many forms; our role is to educate all those that we come into contact with about how to spot harm and how to access help for a person at risk. All our learners receive safeguarding support and education throughout their programme. This is delivered via our ‘includED’ activities.

What is includED?

includED is Tempdent’s safeguarding brand, which encompasses four main areas: Equality and Inclusion, Safeguarding, Prevent (addressing radicalisation and extremism), and E-safety. Our guide to includED has been developed to respond not only to statutory requirements but to focus on providing outstanding support to our learners.

Supporting vulnerable learners

We recognise that some learners are more vulnerable than others. We operate a policy for learners who disclose that they have previously been in local authority care. This is in recognition of the fact that looked-after children often require more intensive support to achieve their potential.

Supporting Employers

We support our employers to understand their own safeguarding responsibilities by offering internally developed education materials as well as providing tailored information, advice, and guidance.
